These are the knitted samples that I developed further!

I love this photograph, i think the dress is amazing and someday I'd love to create a knitted dress like this with layer upon layer of fine knit!

Knit samples

Here are a few of my samples

Latest Project

The inspiration for my current project comes from the amazing coral reef. Looking at the three dimensional shapes of the living creatures beneath the sea to inspire delicate and soft knits. My most inspirational image during my research was an image of a jelly fish that gave me lots of ideas to move my work forward and to experiment further with my knitting. I've been working with fine yarn and have also experimented with screen prinitng using some metalic foils. Here are some images from my sketchbook.

My final outcome for supporting study!

Malousebastiaan

I came across Malousebastiaan during my research for supporting study, they're made up of a dutch design duo and I just find their creations highly inspiring. I love how sculptural they are as they create form with texture but more than anything how clever and creative the pieces are!

Supporting study

This was a supporting study I did during this term where I took inspiration from a vase of dead flowers I had in my room. I loved how delicate they looked but more than anything I found the quirky shapes they made highly inspiring for garment ideas.

Some sketchbook work, inspired by welsh landscape.

Alpaca jumper

This is a project that I developed from a sustainability project that I did last year. Making this jumper really moved on my knitting skills, it was really hard work but was completely worth it!

here's some of my sketchbook and my final jumper!

Italian Vogue

I found these editorials really motivating for my lookbook project but love them just as visuals for anything, i find the muted colour palette beautiful!

Ana Gabriela Serigatto

I found this designer on another blog and found her creativity highly inspiring. The way she created the shapes with the knit makes me want to experiment with padding and using meters of knitting to create as many interesting shapes as possible! I also love the contrast between these large shapes to the intricate pieces of crochet.

Jillian Carrozza

I love how textured these pieces are but most of all how creative, three dimentional knits can work well as menswear! I'd really like to know how they were made.
